Fiji picks 24 weightlifters for Oceania Championship

TWENTY four athletes have been selected to represent Fiji for the Oceania Weightlifting Championship scheduled for the May 24-28 at the Vodafone Arena.

The men's team need to place in the top five and the women's in the top four to be able to select a representative for the Rio Olympics in August.

Teams are scheduled to start arriving in the country on Sunday.


Women: Seruwaia Malani, Ulina Tinaiadivila Sagone, Julia Ana Timi, Apolonia Vaivai, Eileen Floanna Maria Cikamatana, Maraia Moana, Setaita Matavura Ratubalavu, Filomena Simmons, Sofia Koto Kinikinilau, Ulamila Ceva, Lyvon Cirikisuva.

Men: Manueli Tulo, Poama Qaqa, Isikeli Dau, William Dannis Bucknell, Charlie Lolohea, Patrick Tawake Veidreyaki, Mesake Raiviu, Kamoe Erasito, Taniela Tikoisuva Rainibogi, Sitiveni Nukuse

Emosi Tabuasuka, Timothy Victor, Tuitoga Vakuruivalu, Isaiah Elder, Rehana Tonu.
