Weightlifting Fiji qualify for Oceania
Weightlifting Fiji has confirmed their youth team that will be taking part at the Oceania qualifiers at the end of the month.
The trio are made up Sakiusa Soko-tu-kivei, Wilisoni Malani and Timothy Vakuru-ivalu who were seen doing their rounds at the gym yesterday.
It will be the first overseas competition trip for Malani and officials are confident he will do well.
“He is very impressive, and he has improved immensely, the kid should be ready come New Caledonia,” says Della Shaw.
The team know how important this tournament is for them.
“We have to qualify, and we have to be in the top three to able to qualify one male and one female for Nanjing, China,” says Shaw.
