Rugby League encourages Women participation

The SIRL Executive is strongly advocating women participation. Four ladies were invited to join in the Basic Referee Course conducted in June this year. Three of them are teachers from Honiara High School and King George NSS and a student. Two of them have been appointed to join the Exhibition Game committee to help organise this historical event. The next step is to encourage women nomination to the National Executive in the next election by the end of the year, 2009. These ladies will help to coordinate the Women's Rugby Touch year marked for 2010.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
