WCTC downs PPR Shark Attack in Rudimch GBL

Team WCTC stood their ground as they went on to beat a tough Palau Pacific Resort (PPR) Shark Attack, 100-94 Friday night in the ongoing 2013 season of the Rudimch Enterprise Government/Business League at the Palau National gym.

It was a come from behind victory after WCTC went down in the early goings of the game as they trailed 20-22 in the opening tip off and then went on a 30-22 assault in the second to close the first half with a 50-44 advantage.

Then it was a seesaw battle for both teams with PPR Shark Attack coming back strong with a 32-23 run of their own to take back the lead at 76-73. In the final canto, WCTC made their last stand as they anchored a 27-18 run that gave them the win.

Michael Bombita and Coco Gonzales led the scoring chores for WCTC with 36 and 32 points, respectively while Dennis Castro finished the game for PPR Shark Attack with 39 as Mark Pagayanan chipped in 19 on the losing cause.

In other games, President’s X-Men beat KSG Royals, 75-68; PRR Dragon won over Mason’s Hardware, 92-86; Galaxy Builders defeated RTRMI Crushers, 101-99; and Surangel Kings outscored Fish N’ Fins, 82-60.

Games will resume tonight with PNN Molekoi versus MOH Band Aid at 6 p.m. followed by Fish N’ Fins against Sam’s Sharks at 7:30 p.m. while Galaxy Builders will face PPR Stingrays at 9 p.m.

Wednesday night matches will have MOJ Lawmen taking on Island Rhythm at 6 p.m. as KSG Royals will meet Hanpa Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. while PRR Dragons will test RTRMI Crushers at 9 p.m.

Thursday night games will feature President’s X-Men against PPUC Electric Eel at 6 p.m. as Mason’s Hardware will be pitted against Surangel Kings at 7:30 p.m. while PPR Shark Attack will take on Fish N’ Fins in the night cap at 9 p.m.
