2011 Rudimch Government/Business League:MOF Omsangel takes on MPIIC while Mason’s Hardware battles Neco

Contender Ministry of Finance (MOF) Omsangel takes on MPIIC for the coveted crown in the Government Division of the 2011 season of the Rudimch Enterprise Government/Business League at the Palau National gym.

Game time is set at 7 p.m.

MOF Omsangel earned its ticket to the finals with their 78-74 overtime victory over Koror State Government Wednesday night. With the score tied at 68-all at the end of the fourth quarter, MOF Omsangel wasted no time as they prevented a possible KSG comeback as they outscored them 10-6 to take the game and advance to the championship.

Weston led the scoring for MOF Omsangel with 23 baskets while teammate John Stills added 20. Gino Smau finished with 24 for KSG while Merei Ise chipped in 21 on the losing end.

On the other hand, MPIIC took the other finals seat after beating PNOC/PBRA Mercury Optimax, 85-64.

In the Business division, Mason’s Hardware moves on to the championship after besting a hard fighting SDA Crusaders, 87-79. Reid Una Rikrik led all scorers for Mason’s Hardware with 38 while Chris Tangunan top SDA Crusaders with 30 on the losing side.

Mason’s Hardware will take on Neco, which scored a huge upset as they beat team Spoilers, 83-80. Kevin Keltner showed the way for Neco with 20 markers while Michael Bombita tallied 32 for the Spoilers.

Game Two of the bets of three finals series will on November 7 with MPIIC versus MOF Omsangel at 6 p.m. while Neco will meet Mason’s Hardware in the main game at 7:30 p.m.

Coaches and team representatives are advised that there will be a meeting on November 8 at 11:30 a.m. at the Palau National gym to discuss the schedule for the Season Finals.
