Basketball Palau, the daily operating body of the PBF, has presented a certificate to each member as we reach every 250. Previously certificates were presented to the 250^th member (C-Boy Adelbai), 500^th member (Oiterong Mitsur) and the 750^th member (Julius Thomas).

It is appropriate that the 750^th and 1,000^th members are from the youth and junior divisions of the sport as that is where the future expansion of the game will come from. Omelau Beltau (13 years old) is registered as a player from the Koror Elementary School boy’s team in the current ESC Boys League and number 750, Julius Thomas (11 years old) was a member of the Dngerongel / Meketii Combo team in the recent KSHL 14 and Under Boys League

As part of its NDP (National Development Program) Basketball Palau has targeted these young age groups to develop leagues for increased participation in both boys and girls divisions to develop the playing standards at future senior levels and the recent changes to the KSHL (Koror State Hamlet Leagues) will assist in this as well as the expansion of the various school competitions such as the ISL (Inter School League) and ESC (Elelmentary School Competition).  

Now we start to reach for our 1,500^th member before the end of 2011.
