All Star team B route All Star team A, 107-89

The All Star team B had it their way as they went on to beat All Star team A, 107-89, Sunday in the Filipino Basketball League (FBL) annual All Star Weekend at the Palau National gym.

After trailing 28-31 in the first period, the All Star team B led by the dynamic duo of Coco Gonzales and Aries Echanova spurted a 30-16 output to seize the lead at 58-47 to close the first half.

As if that was not enough, All Star team B again dominated the second half as they outscored their counterparts with a 32-20 output to take a commanding 90-67 advantage. From there, they never looked back as they scored the win.

Gonzales paced the All Star team B with 28 points while Echanova chipped in 23 as Michael Bombita topscored for the All Star team A with 30 markers on the losing end.

In the other games, Eric Manio finished with 16 points to fuel the Rookies, Sophomores and Juniors past the Master’s All Star, 81-80.

In the side events, Rogelio Fernandez won the Three Point shootout while Coco Gonzales took the Skills Challenge title.

Entertainment was provided by intermission numbers from the Dreamers dancers and Zumba team Palau. Winners received their prizes immediately after the games.
