This practice has had the effect of educating players of the level at which they need to exercise to achieve a high level of conditioning.  The work rate of players has improved dramatically and so has fitness levels.

In addition to taking their hear rate at all sessions, players are currently completing player charts to record their resting heart rate, hours of sleep, quality of sleep and tiredness sensations after waking.  This is designed to help educate the players on they feel physically every day and from that make necessary changes to improve.  It will also assist the coaches in monitoring individual players. 

Recent conditioning work has included plyometric sessions, circuit training sessions and water aerobics that have pushed the player’s heart rates to the maximum.  

Currently both squads are nearing the completion of the physical conditioning program .  Currently the strength program is on speed strength.  The fitness program is now into Interval and Fartlek sessions for recovery and present indications are very positive and achieving the set targets.  As is usually the case in situations of hard work, the Women’s Squad is leading the way ahead of the Men. .
