CONDITIONING PROGRAM RECOMMENCES
Each squad will have two days at the track from 5.30 – 6.30am and 2 days at the weight gym for the same times. Squad coaches will assist players in the strength gym to follow the program correctly as a recent review showed that several players do not yet understand the program.
On the track the players will spend the first 2 weeks learning how to run correctly to increase their stride length. The fitness program will be a combination of middle distance, interval and Fartlek training.
In addition each squad will attend 2 sessions on the court each week of an evening where the work will focus on individual skill development.
The development phases of these squads will continue through to May when the final teams will be selected to prepare for the Micronesian Games.
