Nationals won over Stingers in IP&E NBL 2013
The Nationals 19 and Under squad showed discipline in the final stretch of the game as they went on to beat the Medalaii Stingers, 71-50 Wednesday night in the ongoing 2013 season of the Shell IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) played at the Palau National gym.
Leading 47-43 going into the final canto, the Nationals displayed their defensive prowess as they outscored the Stingers with a 24-7 run to take the win and prevented any Stingers comeback.
Marvic Ngchar led the scoring chores for the Nationals with 12 as teammate Medermel Yaoch added 12 for the winning cause while Brian Obak Sablan tallied 12 as he topscored for the Stingers on the losing end.
In other games, FR Spoilers escaped with a 74-73 win over WCC Hammers; Ngermid Rivals beat 4x4 Wheelers, 74-70; Idid Airwaves bested Ksau Imaging Solutions, 91-87; Peched Raw drubbed Breakers, 104-64; and FR Spoilers downed Medalaii Stingers, 81-75.
Games resume tonight with Nationals taking on PCC Mesekiu at 7:30 p.m. while Monday night’s games will have Medalaii Stingers versus WCC Hammers at 6 p.m. while Ksau Imaging Solutions will test FR Spoilers in the main game at 9 p.m.
