PMA Warriors win ISL Senior Varsity bball

Palau Mission Academy (PMA) Warriors reclaimed lost glory as they won the coveted championship crown beating a tough Palau High School team A Spiders, 78-66 Monday afternoon for the finals of the 2014 Inter-School League (ISL) Senior Varsity basketball league played at the Palau National gym.

It was a come from behind victory for the Warriors after trailing in the first quarter of play via 18-20 and fell behind at the close of the first half, 32-33. The Warriors would then stage a rally in the third as they outscored the Spiders with a 28-14 run to take over the lead at 60-47.

Then, the Warriors stood their ground as they went all the way to win the game and take the championship crown. RB Dorado close down his performance finishing with 34 points while teammate Marvic Ngchar normed 17.

On the other hand, Edward Baysa led the scoring clutches for the Spiders with 19 as teammates Lipsman Timothy and Medermel Yaoch chipped in 9 and 8 markers, respectively as they settled for runner up honors.

PMA Warriors entered the finals after beating Palau High School (PHS) team B Gray, 90-39 while PHS team A Spiders barged their way into the finals after their 92-61 win over EHS.

Winners received specially crafted trophies immediately after the game. A total of five teams saw action in the tournament namely Palau High School teams A and B, Emmaus High School and Palau Mission Academy.
