WU tames Jaguars, 82-67

Western Union bulks its ninth win as they bested the Jaguars, 82-67 Sunday in the 2012 season of the Filipino Basketball League at the Palau National gym.

Western Union showed might as they established a 31-13 lead and then never looked back to score the win. Dennis Castro paced Western Union with 23 as Erwin Senadre added 22 as they now sport a 9-2 win-loss record in the team standings.

Boy Kal-El topscored for the Jaguars with 18 baskets while teammate Dan Roldan chipped in 16 as they slipped to 2-10.

In other games, FR Spoilers drubbed Hanpa Cardinals, 104-71; Surangel and Sons dumped Rams/Guardians, 89-66 and D’Originals took Game One of their playoff series after beating FR Spoilers, 91-69 in the Master’s League.

Games will resume on July 15 with MJ Rangers versus team Choppers at 11 a.m. followed by the Rams/Guardians-FR Spoilers tussle at 12:30 p.m. as Ocean View/PCGM will meet 9-Ball Friendster in the Master’s League at 2 p.m. while the Jaguars will battle Surangel and Sons in the main game at 3:30 p.m.  By Peter Erick L.
