The PBF (Palau Basketball Federation) has adopted standards for coaching in its major leagues and for the 2011 season all team coaches in the ABL and WNBL must have a Level 1 accreditation for their teams to participate. This decision was taken to help improve the standard of play in the leagues.

In the same way all coaches for teams in the NBL must have a Level 2 accreditation for their teams to participate in the 2012 NBL. A further Level 2 Coaching Course shall be conducted later in 2011.

ABL and WNBL coaches will also have further opportunites to attend a Level 1 Coaching Course later in 2011.

The Basketball Palau coaching courses are part of the NAS (National Accreditation Scheme) for Palau and include Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 courses.
