March Madness continues in Pohnpei

Kolonia, Pohnpei- On the second day of competition of the 2012 Pohnpei Basketball March Madness Tournament, Barracudas and Pingelap-Kihdeleng start out the night with a tight and intense game in the first half. In the second half of the game, Pingelap-Kihdeleng pulled away with their penetration/passing game and fast breaks and triumphed over the Barracudas with a score of 76-65. Vincent Malfin (#12) donated 24 pts and Jeffrey Malfin (#31) and Kester (#8) each contributed 12 pts for Pingelap-Kihdeleng. On the opposing side, Benjamin Pahingai (#24) puts up 19 pts, Enson (#23) with 10 pts and Frankie Yamaguchi (#8) registering 7 pts.
In the second game of day 2 saw Sapwuafik and Old Schools with the likes of former stars Jake Une, Castro Joab, Loatis Seneres, Wainer Louis, Francisco Simram, and Ferny Perman. The Old Schools out-scored team Sapwuafik (71-52) with experience and post plays. Four players from Old Schools breaks the single mark with both Jake Une (#8) and Randy Germinaro (#25) leading the pack with 17 pts a piece, Loatis Seneres (#13) with 15 pts, and Francisco Simram (#5) contributing 10 pts. Kimo (#5) 19 pts, Roland (#12) 11 pts, and Ricky (#13) 9 pts from the losing side.
On the final game of the evening saw Strippling Warriors dismantling Mojukese with 69-39 on the score board. Troy Yaingelou (#14) lead the way with 17 pts, Brandon Gilmete (#11) with 14 pts, while Clinton Etse (#12) and Vincent San Nicolas (#15) contributed with 13 pts and 12 pts. On the losing side, Anthony Ehram (#15) lead his team with 10 pts and Akiliano Paul (#12) and Brandon Wichep (#24) each put up 6 pts.
