Solomon Game 2010 in Auki, Malaita

Solomon games 2010 was hold 25th June to 2nd July. Our team traveled to Auki on 23rd June.

In Auki we trained and gave Auki people experience to touch softball.

We played an exhibition match on 28th June 2010.

Our players are selected from the Honiara league. And we divided two teams, Blue and Red.

Team Blue; Pitcher:Nelson Kabitana, Catcher: Jacob Kobo, 1st baseman: Wendy Tepala, 2nd baseman: John Lebeoa, 3rd baseman: Allen Enity, Short Stop: Mento Maeto, Left Fielder: Richard Nani, Center Fielder: Samson Tuita, Right Fielder: Trivis Urihemae

Team Red; Pitcher: Allen Maliki, Allen Castro, Catcher: Denald Veadoi, 1st baseman: Ellen Berry, 2nd baseman: Francis Kelesi, 3rd baseman: Michael Mento, Short Stop: Steward Chris, Left Fielder: Keny Suta, Center Fielder: Junior Alley, Right Fielder: Hellen Wasi

The Blue team won the game.

The game was very exciting because they showed high level skills especially pitching and fielding.

We thought we attracted a lot of spectators in and around game village at Aligegeo.

On 30th June, we also did promotion program. Softball and baseball is new sports for Solomon Islander except Honiara people. Therefore we wanted to give experience to play softball and baseball.

Our promotion program did demonstration of throwing, catching and batting. After demonstration the spectators tried batting. A lot of people participated in our program. In additional we wanted to include children so we prepared shooting game. Children made long line. We think our promotion program succeeded.

Now we got some good result. Three province, Malaita, Western Rennell Bellona, are interested in softball and baseball. We will visit these three province and introduce softball at schools.
