Niue Athletics at Mini Games 09

Niue Athletics success continued at the Pacific Mini Games held at Rarotonga, Cook Islands in October 2009.

Issac Tatoa who recently made history for Niue at the Oceania Regional Championship 09 by winning Niue's first individual track medal with a Silver in the 100m, continued his form at the Mini Games 09.  He won Bronze to edge out Fiji's hopes of a one, two, three in the 100m Finals.  Two local athletes Michael Jnr Jackson and Tofua Puletama were delighted with their 100m personal bests.

With the experience of Billy Paea who has competed at the Manchester and Melbourne Commonwealth Games, it was a good mix for the Niue Mens 4x100m Relay Team.  The team did very well to come away with Bronze behind Fiji and Tonga.
