2008 Oceania Beach Volleyball Championship -Tonga

Henriette Iatika (23) and Miller Elwin (20) played the 2007 South Pacific Games gold medallist Tahiti, in the finals of the Oceania Beach Volleyball Championship in Tonga. In an amazing battle that could have gone either way, Vanuatu’s dream of winning their first Gold medal was too strong, winning the finals in the 3 sets.  1st set 22-20 (TAH), second set 25-27 (VAN), third set 16-18 (VAN).

Vanuatu went through the championship as the only unbeaten team. The Oceania Beach Volleyball Championship titles have always been shared between New Zealand, Fiji and Tahiti, but now Vanuatu is one number.

Also a big thanks Digicel, Wilco Hardware, Goodies, Kramer Group, Ifiria Stevedoring Trustees, FR8 Logistic DHL for supporting the Vanuatu Beach Volleyball Team at the Oceania Championship in Tonga.
