Umpires course prior to competition

Umpires Course
Prior the Games a Basic Certified Umpires Course was conducted by Rachel Ramos. It was the first time such a course had been held in the Federated States of Micronesia, and provided the local participants with the knowledge required to actively umpire during the 2014 Micronesian Games.

It was pleasing to see many young participants in the course, many of which were College of Micronesia students, the venue which hosted the table tennis event", said Michael Brown, the Oceania Development Officer. "Following the three days of competition all umpires gained valuable experience.

A total of 13 participants took part in the course, with seven passing the Basic Umpires examination; an important step in the continued development of table tennis throughout the Federated States of Micronesia.
