Imbert Nake puts Tafea FC a step closer to semis
Independent sports reporter and local FIFA Referee Harry Atisson announced the encouraging news on VBTC's Nambawan FM 98 a few minutes ago.
Harry says according to information relayed from Tafea's major sponsors, Au Bon Marche, Nake had broken through the Manawatu defence before producing one of his trademarks that left the Kiwi keeper flat footed.
And it was 1-nil to Tafea FC 20 minutes into the first half of what is seen as the Vanuatu champions' crucial match. They must win this game to reach the semi finals.
Playing for the New Zealand team are Solomon Islands internationals, namely Commins Menapi, Alek Maemae and Totori. The trio have been very instrumental in Manawatu's first two games.
And they have Freddy Vava, Geoffrey Gete and Samson to beat at the Tafea defence. And of course the veteran goalkeeper and Vanuatu national team skipper David Chilia is also the last man to beat.
According to Harry, Roger Waiwai has been brought in to the first eleven for Tafea, obviously following the suspension of Richard Iwai in their first match against AS Magenta last Thursday 11 May. Richard would be able to play again if they make through to the semis.
