VanuaKids Tournament in full swing

The 2005 NBV VanuaKids Tournament is about to complete the first round of matches since the games started on Wednesday 21 September.
Four top teams will proceed to the second stage starting on Wednesday 5 October. The day will also se the start of the girls teams competition. For the first time, schools are being asked to field in one girls team each in this year's tournament.
Following FIFA's direction toward developing women's football, it is being anticipated that potential players are selected at the primary aged level for future development and formation of national women's teams.
According to the program, the participating schools will take part in a parade through the city and ending at the Lycee football ground where all the matches including the second stage of the boys competitions and the girls tournament will be played. Following the call from FIFA for all national football associations to organise events to commemorate the annual FIFA Fair Play Day together with the United Nations International Day of Peace (21 September) the teams will be marching through Port Vila with the FIFA Fair Play flag.
Organsiers have been liaising with the Vanuatu Police Force and the VMF Band for the parade which will begin at the National Bank of Vanuatu House, and to go along Lini Highway, and ending at the Lycee ground.
