Securing a top-two position with only a fortnight remaining in the regular season, the Sydney Metro Blues finished Round 3 with a 3-1 record thanks in large part to the performance of Bridie Kean.

Kean averaged 23.5 points while recording two double-doubles to add 9.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

On Friday night, the Blues more than doubled Kilsyth’s total in a 38-point win with Kean recording 31 points on 14-22 (64%) shooting.

They were just as impressive the next day against cross-town rivals Sydney Uni Flames in a 41-point victory with Kean again scoring a game-high 26 points which included a three-pointer.

Later that day against the Minecraft Queensland Comets, the two-time Paralympian made more of an impact in the paint, recording a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds with two steals in a complete performance.

The Blues did not lose a quarter for the third consecutive game in the 25-point win but they were unable to extend their streak against the Be Active Western Stars on Sunday in a 53-66 loss.

Kean was still highly influential with 19 points and 12 boards while playing every minute and shooting 9-19 from the field.

Her effectiveness at the offensive end and ability to cause headaches both inside and outside the paint will help the Blues in their quest for the Championship this season but she will need help if they are to overcome the Stars who look their most likely Grand Final opponent.
