MOF, Galaxy Builders take Game One in GBL Finals

Division leader Ministry of Finance (MOF) Omsangel and Galaxy Builders drew first blood in their respective Division in Game One of the Division Finals of the 2012 season of the Rudimch Enterprise Government/Business League played at the Palau National gym.

MOF Omsangel is determined to retain its title after besting MPIIC, 92-79 to take a 1-0 lead in their best of three championship series in the Government Division, Friday night. Tutii Benjamin paced MOF Omsangel with 27 points while teammate Weston added 16.

On the other hand, Melngis Uchel topscored for MPIIC with 18 on the losing end.

In the Business Division, Galaxy Builders showed poise as they won over Palau Pacific Resort (PPR) Shark Attack, 98-95. Galaxy Builders battled PPR Shark Attack toe-to-toe as they fend off PPR in the dying second of the game to take a 1-0 advantage.

Despite playing four fouls, Emerson Patenia led Galaxy Builders with 33 points while Erwin Senadre and Bong Alambra added 21 and 18 baskets, respectively.

Game Two of the championship series for both Government and Business Divisions are still playing as of this writing.

In the consolation games, MOJ Cops won over MOE Spiders, 68-56 to take third place in the Government Division while Neco defeated Fish and Fins Hunters, 83-68 to take third runners up in the Business Division.
