Basketball Fiji presented donated shoes from Australia courtesy of FIBA Oceania to the Raiwaqa Basketball Players Association on Saturday 24^th September 2011 held at Ed’s court in Raiwaqa. Basketball Fiji President Brig General Ioane Naivalurua presented the shoes on behalf of the federation which was warmly received by the  executivesmembers of the Raiwaqa Basketball Players Association in an official handover ceremony organized in partnership with the association. On hand to witness the ceremony were the children and affiliated members to the association. The association as a thankful gesture to the executives of Basketball Fiji prepared a morning tea which was prepared by the parents of youths registered to the association. President of the Raiwaqa Association Saula Koroi thanked the officials of BF and FIBA Oceania for regonising and supporting their efforts in making the sport of basketball an alternative to traditionally played sports. He said that the donated shoes will bring alot of joy into the lives of the youths affiliated to the association and will encourage their respective families to support their children participate in future organised basketball events organised by the association.
