Last year’s runners up Marist Brothers’ High Schools are favourites to win the Twisties National Secondary Schools Basketball Championship after accounting for defending champions YSS in the U19 boys Suva Secondary Schools Competition last pool rounds. In the U19 girls division new comers Adi Cakobau School which is lead by National U20 rep Mili Koyamaivure will be the team to beat after a very impressive record (9 wins – 0 losses) in the Suva Secondary Schools Basketball Competition league games.

In the U17 girls defending champion LDS will be out to retain their title however will face stiff opposition from Western Giants Natabua Secondary School.   Yat Sen Secondary School finished on top of the U15 & U17 boys points table in the Suva Secondary Schools Basketball Competition and is closely followed by new comers John Wesley School.

In the U15 girls defending champions Natabua will be the team to watch out for after retaining the service of Netball rep and U20 basketball player Leba Korovou.

Basketball Fiji Development Officer Laisiasa Puamau said that he anticipated stiff competition as the teams have been training very hard for the past week in anticipation of the competition.
