Referee's improving the game
The referees course currently running at the College of Micronesia (COM) National Campus in Pohnpei is allowing for new and current referees to get together to tune their skills for the Pohnpei Open League.
The course is being run by visting Basketball Expert Ryan Burns and he is thrilled with the enthusiasm of the participants.
"We are having some excellent discussions about the rules and principles of basketball. It is a great learning environment for all of those involved, including me. Referees play a crucial role in basketball, not only do they officiate the game but they also teach people the rules of the game ahich allows people to perform at their very best within the sport" said Mr Burns.
The Level 1 Referees Course continues every Wednesday and Friday from 2.30pm and 4.30pm until Ryan departs fpr Kosrae on April 2nd.
