March Madness- Day 9 Highlights

Kolonia, Pohnpei- Day 9 of the 2012 Pohnpei Basketball March Madness Tournament second prelims saw action between Awak Wolverines and COM Sharks. Wolverines was in control most of the game until a come back from the Sharks early in the third period and taking the lead. After a time-out by the Wolverines, they took control of the game again and secured their first victory in the second prelim with a 68-62 score. Ramsie Joab (#5) lead the Wolverines with 21 pts (15 pts from behind the arc) and Adelino Primo (#8) with 14 pts. Rinson (#22) lead the Sharks with 16 pts and Tomasi Mawi (#8) with 12 pts.
Other actions of Day 9 was Out-Laws and Old School. Out-Laws defeated Old School 77-59. The Out-Laws were just too much for Old Schools when it comes to transition plays. Kezin Jr. (#6) lead Out-Laws in scoring with 16 pts and Beno Pluhs (#8) and Austin Saimon (#7) with 14 pts apiece. Loatis Senere (#13) lead his team with 19 pts and Randy Germinaro (#25) with 13 pts in their loss against Out-Laws.
The last match was a shocker by SDA Dolphins. The Dolphins edged Visual Impact 53-52. It was a close match from opening period until the buzzer sounds. An unsportsman foul by a Visual Impact player causing the Dolphins to gain possession of the ball and run out the time. Anthony Brackett (#24) lead the Dolphins with 16 pts and Carlos (#22) contributing 13 pts. Branson Kohper (#24) lead Visual with 13 pts and Joseph Artui (#6) with 9 pts.
