In 2011 the Australian Melges 24 Association was looking for a new President. The class was growing and gaining momentum, a proposal to host the Melges 24 World Championships had been submitted to the IM24CA board by founding class President Heath Townsend and Melges Asia Pacific’s Heath Walters who introduced the class to Australia but the submission had stalled overseas.more
