Sharpen up in pre-season with the latest news from Queensland's PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues clubs.

Roar Launch U20s Team

In an exciting move for young Queensland footballers, Brisbane Roar have announced they will field a team in the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Youth Men's division in 2017.

The team will bridge the gap between Young Roar, who compete at Senior Men's level, and the BRFC-QAS National Training Centre squad which is part of the U18 Boys competition.

“Creating future opportunities for young Queensland footballers is something the Roar is passionate about,” BRFC Football Director Craig Moore said.

Pre-Season Heats Up

FNQ FC Heat are putting in the pre-season work in a bid to go one better than last season's maiden Grand Final appearance.

The club has revealed its top performers from the FIT360 Challenge at local business Fit360 Interactive Fitness.

"It was a great pre-season workout promoting team-building and good competitive elements," head coach Tim Campbell said.

Four-Star Pride Shine In Pre-Season Hit-Out

Western Pride's pre-season is going from strength-to-strength following a 4-0 win over last season's Flight Centre Premier League runners-up Mitchelton FC.

Boni Thomas bagged three while Delors Tuyishime notched the other as Graham Harvey's made it consecutive victories to go with the pre-Christmas defeat of Holland Park Hawks.

Pride's next home engagement is against Wolves FC on 21 January.

UQFC Bolster Attacking Options

UQFC have confirmed the capture of former Olympic FC and Eastern Suburbs forward Mikaela DiSavia for their 2017 campaign.

DiSavia has been prolific at youth level and UQFC will hope to see the young striker, who made nine appearances for Eastern Suburbs in 2016, translate that form to senior level.

Thunder Gun Back On Board

SWQ Thunder have re-signed another of their 2016 standouts with Korean midfielder Hong Soon Im confirming his return to the Toowoomba-based outfit.

The former Goyang Citizen and Kapfenberger SV player scored a memorable goal on the Sunshine Coast in his seven appearances at the back end of last season.

'Noah', as he's known around the club, joins fellow stars Keagan Sheridan, Mustafa Jafari and Luke Borean in re-committing.

Strikers Promote Midfield Prospects

New Brisbane Strikers coach Sean Lane has pledged opportunities to young midfielders Zayd Dennis, Finn Bailey and Sam Ball as he continues to refresh the reigning premiers for 2017.

The trio join established names Michael Angus, Jake McLean and Shaun Carlos, as well as a star recruit Michael Lee, in Strikers' engine room.

"I’m a firm believer that if you’re good enough then you’re old enough," Lane said.

Green Jets Back Home

Two-time championship winner Stephen Green has returned to Moreton Bay United.

Green helped the Jets to the 2015 double before making the switch to Redlands United, where he enjoyed a second straight Grand Final triumph.

"I didn’t have a bad time last time I was here and it just seemed like the right thing to do (to return)," the attacking midfielder explained.
