FNQ Heat have moved four points clear at the top of the table with a commanding 2-0 win over Moreton Bay United at Endeavour Park.

Heat raced to a two goal half-time advantage via Darcy McCormack and Jamie Carroll – the skipper’s seventh goal of the campaign.

However, it was the back four who proved indomitable throughout the contest as with centre-halves Shimon Watanabe and Charlie Beverley repeatedly stifled Jets’ attacking outlets.

The result marks a third straight win for Heat in all competitions and a second straight clean sheet in PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues.

Jets have now collected just six points since the end of March and the defending Champions now are four points outside the top four in sixth place.

38’ – GOAL FOR HEAT – Joshua Pin’s ball is lobbed over the Jets backline and its misread by Jets goalkeeper Ryan Atkins, allowing Jamie Carroll to take advantage by tucking it away into an empty net

55’ – CHANCE FOR HEAT – Carroll’s run ends at the byline before attempting an audacious chipped effort that is tipped over the crossbar by Ryan Atkins

87’ – CHANCE FOR HEAT – Pin is found by a ball cutback from the byline but he bangs his shot into the crossbar

What They Said

“They were such a good side last year and they played excellent today, so we’re really pleased about that result. We did well across the park I think. We were under a little bit of pressure at times and I think the centre backs did well. “ – Tim Campbell, FNQ FC Heat coach

“We didn’t win the midfield and we weren’t compressed enough to make it a battle. So that allows them, who are a confident side, to go on and say ‘we got this match’ really. It was a better second half but we just didn’t do enough today.”– William Ingledew, Moreton Bay United FC (stand-in) coach
