Olympic Scuttle Coach Rumours

Olympic FC have strongly denied they are on the verge of appointing a former Hyundai A-League coach and reaffirmed their support for Jim Bellas.
Rumours abounded this week that Olympic were looking to replace the highly-regarded Bellas with Miron Bleiberg, who coached then-named Queensland Roar in the first two seasons of the Hyundai A-League.
Bellas is the most successful Queensland-based coach in PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues – winning the 2013 Premiership and Championship titles and boasting a league-best 47 wins during his tenure.
Olympic President Peter Ioannidis categorically dismissed the notion that Bellas’ position was under threat.
“We’re not going to replace anyone. We’re happy with the way things are going and that’s it,” Ioannidis stated.
Olympic Technical Director Joe Fenech explained the club is regularly approached by high profile coaches but that didn’t mean changes were afoot.
“I have had enquiries from Branko Culina, from Miron Bleiberg and from other coaches and I can tell you as Technical Director I am delighted this caliber of coaches are interested in coming to our club,” Fenech said.
“But Jim is the coach and as far as I’m concerned he will be the coach for the rest of the season.”
“Jim Bellas has my full and unequivocal support,” he concluded.
Fenech also said the club was looking forward to formally announcing several signings in the coming weeks for the upcoming PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues season.
Olympic continue their pre-season this weekend in the Macron Cup where they face Gold Coast City.
