Souths United were victorious 4-0 over traveling SWQ, the match may have further implications with both sides picking up injuries.

The hosts appeared to control a majority of the night's proceedings, with most of the ball and attacking plays. The visitors, however, should be credited on their defence and relentless effort.

Souths coach Gary French suggested it was only by sticking to the plan and some nice finishes that his side walked away with the three points. A win important for the hosts as they keep The Gap and Peninsula within reach for the top spot.

The visiting Goalkeeper Elizabeth Hollitt picked up a head injury early in the match, she continued until just after halftime, when she collapsed. Complaining of dizziness and nausea, Hollitt was removed from the field to receive medical attention.

Souths United will be playing away next week, as they travel to Gold Coast City. Thunder will return home for their meeting with league leaders Peninsula.

42' - GOAL FOR SOUTHS - Rosie Sutton dribbles the ball down the right-hand flank and strikes the ball from the edge of the 18-yard box. The goalkeeper misreads the play, standing too far off her line, allowing Sutton to strike the ball into the bottom left-hand corner.

However, due to a deflection from Thunder’s defense, it has been recorded as an opposition own goal.

69' - GOAL FOR SOUTHS - Kiri Dale ventures out from the Souths defensive-line to run up the left-hand flank, she then crosses the ball to Sutton who strikes the ball into the bottom right-hand corner.
