Well done to our 2016 CQ Premier League Grand Final winners. The 17 September saw the climax of the finals series in the battle for the Wesley Hall Cup in the CQ Premier League. An epic Grand Final at Apex Park worthy of the two most consistent teams throughout the season saw Frenchville eventually triumph deep into extra time 6-5 after the game with Clinton was level 4-4 after full time. In the CQPL Dvision 2 final Gladstone's Clinton won out against a gallant Cap Coast team in another closely contested final.
As a preliminary to the men's games the winners of the Gladstone Women's A Grade competition - Meteors - and the winners of the RWL - Cap Coast played off in the CQ Women's Championship. In the warm afternoon sunshine Meteors took out an entertaining game 2-0 with no reserves. Congratualtions to all players, officials and supporters for contributing to an enjoyable conclusion to the 2016 season. And well done to everyone at Cap Coast for a very well organised final's day event. A touching tribute to the late Eric Skinner and Guy Ganley was held with a minute's silence preceding each game.
