Beautiful winter’s morning saw the young Tigers take on a fairly talented Glen Waverley Team. Led today by Roy, the boys started well from the get go, and were on the board early. There was some great leading from the half back line and the boys played their positions well. Good goals today by Hamish, Cooper and Rishi. Best today were Ned who has some of the best on the ground skills in the team, and Mason who played very well on the wing and up forward. Also best were Jett, Archer, Tarran, Morgan and Harrison.

Today we celebrated Jacoby's 50th game for the yellow and black and he led us as skipper. Jacoby is a very skillful, strong and humble team member and has been our look to forward for most of the season. Alongside Jacoby as captain was Cooper who is the smallest member of our team but gives his all every single week. We took on Norwood, on their home digs. We started very well and had the run of play in the first quarter but couldn't get it on the scoreboard. The rest of the game was an arm wrestle, however Norwood were able to capitalize on their forward entries better than us and was the difference for the day. Both captains played well, Jacoby especially good in his 50th. Other good players were Max, Caden, Riley, Jack, Mason

Today saw the Mitcham Tiger take on Blackburn at Walker Park, Blackburn had been on a winning streak over the last 3 weeks, and we were looking to end that today. The boys were very fired up this morning bursting out of the gates an kicking 3 goals 3 in the first quarter, Blackburn didn’t know what hit them. Blackburn came out a little harder in the second quarter with a lot more of a defensive mindset, only allowing 1 goal in, but our backline held strong and didn’t allow any balls passed. The third term saw Blackburn attacking hard but again our backline held strong, only conceding a rushed behind, the fourth quarter had the tigers back on top with a 1 goal 3 term.
Goals: Aiden 2, Ryan O, Sam, Joshie and Hudson
Best: Hamish, Lachlan, Hudson, Luke F, Joshie and Tynan
Final Score: Mitcham 6.7.43 def. Blackburn 0.1.1

Koonung Sunday morning v Donvale saw the U12s kick against a strong wind in th 1st. An awesome display of defensive pressure made Donvale's slick ball carriers panic & turn over the ball. The flex of muscle & smart decision making ensured a great win.
Final Score: Mitcham 4.10.34 d Donvale 2.4.16
Under 12 Girls by Ruby Schneider (Coach)
Today the girls played their second last game down at Kooning Reserve against Coldstream. We had a full team which was great however it was very chilly for the girls at the beginning. The game was fantastic to watch as everyone had some sort of input in the game. Keyani had great effort throughout the whole day and was able to snag herself a goal which was extremely exciting. There was great work and bravery shown by Mathilda and Stella Anderson. It was also great to see girls who have improved so much when compared to the start of the year such as Milly, Jess & Gemma who all got involved in the game and is fantastic to see them enjoying it. mWould like to mention Taya, Hannah and Lauren who did some great work in the middle. Also a huge thank you to Charlotte, Amber, Milly, Phoebe, Caitlin, Hannah, Jess, Lauren, Gemma and Taya who filled in for Coldstream for a quarter as they didn't have enough players. Last but not least, a massive congratulations to Matilda Ridgway who kicked a whopping 5 goals for the day along with some goal assists - great welcome back as she missed the game before. Well done to all the little tigers who hit the field today! Awesome win & great to see so much improvement, laughter and joking amongst the girls. Go tiges!
Final Score: Mitcham: 9.6.60 d Coldstream: 0.5.5

Congratulations to the boys, firstly for securing their first finals campaign in the teams history, and also for playing a great game of football today. During the course of the season, the boys have been working on hand balling under pressure and chipping the football around, and today for the first time, the boys started executing these two skills they have learnt. Todays win was a great reward for all the hard work they have been putting in. And while we had some outstanding players today, I really thought it was a team contribution that got us over the line. The ball didn't come down back much today. but when it did, I thought the backline did a great job. Boothy is our quiet achiever. He does a lot of the team things, is a bit of a General down back that takes a lot of responsibility for the player match ups, and today he did some things that were outstanding and he kept his cool. One piece of play in particular was when he could have taken the easy option and pushed through a point for the opposition, but he backed himself and cleared the ball out to our advantage. It was the perfect piece of back line play. Another player whom I am happy with their progress is Pat. Every week he is getting better down back and today put a smile on my face when he got the ball kicked to him, he took on the opposition player and got passed him, and did a beautiful kick to our advantage. There is nothing better to watch than attacking backline players. Well done the entire backline. Make sure all the boys get to training this Wednesday and Friday as our next few weeks are very important and exciting.
Goal kickers Nathan 2, Jack 1, Luca 1, JP 1, Dan T 1.

The U14's hosted South Croydon on a cold a windy Sunday afternoon at Walker Park. Kicking against the wind in the first quarter the boys set up the game by playing our best quarter of "contested footy" for the season. Being first to the ball and showing greater desperation the Tigers lead at the first break kicking 2 goals to 1. In the second we continued to apply pressure outscoring the opposition 5 goals to 4 to lead by 10 points at half time. In the second half we kicked 5 goals to zero to run at comfortable winners by 32 points. We played our best 4 quarter game for the season today beating a team well ahead of us on the ladder. Everyone played their role and it was great to see the smile and celebration after the game. We have worked very hard over the last couple of weeks and to play to our full potential today was very pleasing. If we play like today next week I'm sure will finish the season off on a good note. Well done boys, we sang the song with great gusto, a fantastic team effort. Go Tigers.
Best Players: Dom, Wil Drake, Sam, Adlai, Declan, Callum Mead
Goals: Dom 4, Ethan Wu 3, Callum Mead 3, Harry 1, Luke Petterlin 1
Scores: Mitcham 12.7.74 d South Croydon 5.12.42

The under 14 girls were all set to take on Belgrave at Belgrave in this weeks game but unfortunately we had a couple of girls not turn up that we didn’t know about and we had to forfeit the game. We ended up just playing a game for no points with Belgrave. The girls played a fantastic game of football with only 11 players. Keely and Evie played their best games for the year with no Mitcham player being beaten in any of the positions that they played in. Sabrina was also fantastic when playing down back as well as Maddy having plenty of the ball in our forward line. While playing in the ruck Bianca also gave our midfield first use of the ball. While It was extremely satisfying to have the dominated the game it was a pity that it didn’t count for anything
Better players: Sabrina, Daisy, Maddy, Riley and Bianca

What a day to celebrate the 50 game milestones for TK, Adrian and Maxxy. These 3 players have been fantastic players for the club and I doubt there was one game in the fifty that either of these players haven’t performed to a high standard. Well done guys. The game today versus Croydon was a crucial one for the team, not only to put a stamp on top spot but to also have a competitive hit out before the finals. The game was pretty intense from the word go and through our clean use of the footy and the drive given to us from the defensive line we were able to outscore the opposition even though we were kicking into a strong breeze. The defensive line, led by Tommy and Max and well supported by Zebby, spitta, Alex, Tk and Danny were crucial to our delivery up forward. Our mids with Benny giving us first use gave us the opportunity for clean ball use out of the centre, was well supported by Horse, jaydos, Adrian and timmy. The forwards did their job with the squirrel popping up for a couple and our new full forward for the day kicking a magnificent goal from outside the 50. The lead was extended in the second quarter when the wind aided us in getting the ball deep and we worked the ball with precision to give our forwards the best opportunity to score. The contest was only intensifying up till the main break and we knew we would need to be on our game leading into the third. As expected Croydon came out strong and our defence went to work again, keeping their shots on goal to a minimum but just not enough to keep the game from hands reach. The boys worked extremely hard across the board to maintain the lead and were preparing for a big last quarter. The last was very intense with Croydon showing no signs of defeat and they kept coming. A few umpiring decisions didn’t go our way and the opposition were slowly pegging back our lead. With a minute to go Croydon got within 1 goal and the boys were desperately battling on to hold onto the lead. The final siren finally came and we came out victorious. This was a great win and one we should be proud of. Tommy was inspirational all day as was Maxxy, Jaydos, Zebby, Benny, Adrian, Horse, Danny, Cam and sean. The whole team played a massive part in this win and I would say our best this year.
Lets look to next week boys and keep our focus on the prize.
Well done. Go Tiges!!!!!!!!
