The Mitcham Junior Football Club is pleased to announce that Eddy Mitchell (father of Thomas) has been appointed as one of our U8 coaches for season 2017. We have great numbers in our U8’s and Eddy will be coaching the Mitcham Yellow team which will be composed of boys mainly from Whitehorse and Old Orchard Primary schools.

Eddy has had a long and continuous involvement in football ever since turning out at the age of eight for the Holy Saviour Primary School. Eddy’s senior career was at Emmaus/St Leo’s in the VAFA where he played a remarkable 330 games as a midfielder/half forward and combined team captaincy with a number of off-field roles including assistant coaching and a member of the club’s committee.

Just like the St Kilda team he passionately follows he has taken over a young and up and coming list that is choc-full of talented players. Eddy was an Auskick coach for a number of years at Mitcham and will bring the same organised, instructive and entertaining approach to coaching our U8 Yellow team. We congratulate Eddy on his appointment and look forward to a great season for his U8 Yellow boys.
