The Mitcham Junior Football Club had a huge day on Sunday, March 29, hosting practice matches at Eley Reserve in Blackburn South for all age groups.

In beautiful conditions and a great location, the morning kicked off with with our Under 8 Black taking on Vermont while at the same time our Under 9 team took on Doncaster.  This was followed up by our Under 8 Yellow taking on another Vermont team and our Under 10's also playing Doncaster.  All four of these games were great games of footy and gave all the kids a taste of what lies ahead for them in season 2015.  In paricular it was great to see the excited faces of the Under 8's as they kitted up in their Tiger playing jumpers for the first time.

The Under 11's, 12's, 13's and 15's all took on Doncaster teams for the rest of the day and all teams are to be congratulated for the way they condcuted themselves on and off the field.  Four very competitive games of football were played and all teams could only take positives out of the way that they played.  A big thank you to all the players and the coaching staff of all teams for being so organised and helping the day run so smoothly.

The Mitcham JFC would like to take the opporunity to thank both the Doncaster JFC and the Vermont JFC for helping make this day a successful one for all involved.  We were able to unveil our new BBQ trailer to all our members and it was certainly well received by everyone.

The Executive Committee would like to thank everone who contributed on the day, especially everyone who worked on the BBQ.  Once again a credit to all teams for this.  A big thank you to Vicki and Peter Hopkins who worked tirelessly all day(Not a bad effort considering The Hopkins and Wards also worked all day on the BBQ catering for the seniors Saturday) and a special mention and thank you to Cam Chivers (Ground Manager for the day) who ran the schedule of games thoughtout the day like clockwork.  Thanks also to GMac and BIG Gav for marking up the ground.

Now all our teams have had the taste, it is time to get ready for the real stuff with Round 1 commencing on Sunday April 12.  As soon as the EFL announce the draw, your team managers will let you know.

Stay tuned for all the news regarding Jumper Presentation Night which will be held at the Mitcham Sporting Club on Friday, April 10.
