Cam Horsey has been appointed coach of the Under 15’s for Season 2015. Cam was an assistant coach with our Under 14’s in 2014 and takes the next step with this group of players. As well as playing lots of football himself in years gone by, Cam has always been involved in coaching, training and developing junior sportsmen even before he had kids of his own. Involvement with the Ormond Glenhuntly Baseball Club Juniors (1987-90), South Caulfield Cricket Club Juniors (1995-97) and the Ringwood Cricket Club Juniors (2013-14) shows Cam’s commitment to junior sport. He spent 5 years at Croydon Junior Football Club (2008-2012), before coming to Mitcham and served as a runner, trainer and/or assistant coach in Under 9’s to Under 12’s during that period. Cam is very passionate about working with this group of players and continuing to develop them as footballers as they become young men moving forward.

As well as welcoming Cam Horsey to the Under `15’s coaching position, it would be remiss of us as a club not to thank Cam Chivers for his hard work over several seasons with this team. Cam co-coached these boys in 2012 and 2013 and then took over in his own right in 2014. He had been an assistant coach and runner prior to this over several seasons. These boys played some fantastic football in 2014 and unfortunately were cruelled with injuries at the crunch time of the season. We thank Cam for his commitment and his passion and are extremely happy that he will stay involved on our committee as we strive to make this a great place for our kids to learn and play this great game.
