The Mitcham Junior Football Club is pleased to announce the following U17 coaching appointments for 2015

The club has been fortunate in securing Wayne Dalton as U17 coach for 2015. Wayne has had an extensive junior coaching career and was most recently coach of the Croydon U17 team who finished runners-up in the U17A competition. Prior to this he coached South Croydon U19’s in Division 1 of the EFL and also had a number of years at East Ringwood coaching teams across a range of junior age groups. Wayne has also had senior coaching experience with Powelltown in the YVMDFL and a distinguished senior playing career, primarily with East Doncaster in the EFL.

Wayne has a proven record in player development and will look to develop players who will be capable of playing multiple positions across the ground. He is looking forward to working with the boys and furthering their skill level and football knowledge. Wayne’s aim is to see individual improvement in every player as he looks to build players able to have an impact on the U17 competition in 2015 and capable of making a successful transition to U19 and ultimately senior football.

The Mitcham junior Football Club is also pleased to appoint Reece Turner to the U17 assistant coaching role. Reece comes highly recommended and is currently coaching the St David’s U16 cricket team and is keen to extend his junior coaching experience to football. He has had a significant senior playing career over many years at Balwyn, Templestowe and the Hawthorn Amateur Football Club. Reece will draw on a substantial base of football knowledge, a proven ability to work with young sportsmen and excellent communication skills as he works with Wayne on developing the U17 Mitcham Junior Football team in 2015.

* The Mitcham Junior Football Club sincerely thanks our outgoing under 17 coach Gavin Ward for the outstanding work he has done with this Group of boys having played finals every year plus a premiership in 2012. Gavin's enthusiasm together with his Professionalism and planning has set the bench mark very high for ALL Mitcham JFC coaches to follow. The good news is Gavin will be continuing on in his role as footy opps / coaches’ coordinator
