The Mitcham Junior Football Club Under 13’s held their annual “End Of Season” Camping Trip to the Upper Yarra Reservoir from Friday October 11 to Sunday October 13. With 15 Dads and 18 boys on hand, a great time was had. After a couple of years of ordinary weather, this year we were blessed with fine, sunny and warm days and clear nights for sitting around the campfire and solving the problems of the world. Of course some were left unsolved!!!

The boys had an action packed weekend. If they weren’t kicking the footy, they were playing “Capture the flag” or checking out the yabbies and the fresh water crays in the Yarra. They also had a go at cutting up a fallen tree that was near our campsite. Amazing what they will do when $10 is on offer!!

As you can see by the attached photos, we also had a feast of Lamb for lunch on the Saturday. A big thank-you to Con for brining the lamb down and cooking it for us all. It went down like a treat and we all enjoyed watching it cook. There were not too many hungry Dads or boys when it came to the evening meal on Saturday night.

Thank you to everyone who made the effort to attend. It was a very successful and fun weekend for us all and as usual, we can’t wait to get back there again next years. Bring on Season 2014!

Thank-you also to Peter H for bringing the firewood down in his trailer along with the pot belly stove. Special  thanks to Con and Garry for the constant comedy routines that had us all in stitches for much of the weekend!
