Due to a tragic accident in 2012 where Leongatha player Beau Vernon became permanently paralysed during a country football match, The EFL has now arranged an extra insurance cover that provides $1 million dollars for injuries that result in permanent paraplegia or quadriplegia. For this type of injury, the league believes this is the highest level of cover provided to any sports competition in Australia.
Such cover does come at a cost so the EFL has introduced a NEW League Registration for all individuals -senior and junior who wish to play EFL football in 2013 with a small annual registration fee of $11.00 for juniors. This is a compulsory requirement from the EFL and is an extra cost over and above your normal Mitcham Junior Football club Registration fees and MUST be completed and paid for ASAP by ALL members of our club before you can play.
Registration fees are not new, as the MJFC have previously been required to pay Registration fees on your behalf and we will continue to do so, so our players will continue to be provided personal accident and loss of income insurance as per the EFL’s cover. The new registration fees have been set to cover, not just a small portion of the administrative costs of running the league, but also to cover the costs of this new level of insurance cover. Please Visit www.eflinsurance.com.au for more information on the level of cover provided.
Please follow the step by step guide below to registering on line which is very easy to do
If any player has any concerns or difficulties in managing their registration or payment, they are encouraged to speak with OUR Registration officer Craig Giles 0408 536 539 who will be able to assist.
