O'Brien Claims NCCUA Umpire of the Year Award

Joey O'Brien has maintained the mantle of No 1 Umpire in the region after being named the Newcastle Central Coast Umpires Association (NCCUA) Umpire of the Year and their presentation night held recently.

It is the third time O'Brien has claimed the top award and comes on the back of him also being named BDAFL Umpire of the Year.

A highlight of the Presentation Night was the presentation of the match ball, signed by both competing teams, to John Sullivan commemorating his 1,000th match.

In other significant presentations, Neville Turner was elevated to "Legend" status in the NCCUA Hall of Fame, with his wife Margaret present to collect the plaque as acknowledgement.
