Day 2 wrap-up: NTL 2018 & Elite 8

Competition was tight on day 2 of play at National Touch League 2018 in Coffs Harbour – none tighter than the Women’s 45’s division, where the Scorpions came out on top despite only two wins, accompanied by one loss and three draws.

The Scorps Men’s 40’s and Men’s 60’s are also showing their sting – they both remain undefeated at the end of day 2. As do the Sydney Rebels in the Mixed Opens.

North-of-the-border teams are showing their might too, with the Sharks undefeated in the Men’s 30’s and the CQ Bulls undefeated in the Men’s T-League.

A Men’s T-League special shout-out has to go to Japan, who improved steadily throughout the comp and ended their campaign with a 5-all-draw after an edge-of-seats action-packed game against the Cobras.

In the Women’s 27’s, three teams are on 22 points at the close of day 2, so that’ll be an interesting division to watch on finals day.

In the Men’s Elite 8, the Cowboys are looking good on 24 points – the Mavericks and Mets sit on 18 points each, and the NSW Scorpions on 16 points after edging out the Titans on try difference.

Three teams in the Women’s Elite 8 are all on 20 points – the Scorpions, Titans and Broncos – with the Scorpions having the superior for and against.

Looking forward to some seriously hot, fire canon-fuelled action tomorrow for finals day!
