NEWS: Lara SC to once again host Lara Girls’ Challenge

LARA Soccer Club will host the second annual Lara Girls’ Challenge on the weekend of Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November at its Lara Recreation Reserve complex.

“Last year’s inaugural Challenge was a great success,” said Lara Soccer Club president Tony Horrocks.

The teams that took part in last year’s event included Gippsland, Ballarat, Point Cook and local sides Kardinia College and Surfcoast FC as well as the hosting club, Lara SC.

“The inaugural event was taken out by Gippsland and was also attended by John Eren, the Victorian State Minister for Sport, who spoke with all the teams.”

“I would expect more teams to enter this year, based on last year’s success and we are looking to incorporate a few surprises over the weekend to add to the carnival atmosphere,” added Horrocks.

To express your team’s interest in participating in this year’s event, send an email to laragirlschallenge@gmail.com. Registrations close on Saturday 10th October and will include entry into a special Halloween themed party, to be held in Lara on the Saturday night.
