Community project praised

The Traralgon East Community Centre, Community Connect project has taken out the Creating Collaborative Community Partnerships Award at this year’s Victorian Early Years Awards.

The project involved a range of community groups that helped deliver more than 20 programs designed to attract children and improve their access to services.

The Victorian Early Years Awards celebrate the exceptional contributions that individuals and organisations make to improving the learning and development of young children and their families.

The Creating Collaborative Community Partnerships Award award is for an initiative that promotes collaborative practice to support and demonstrate positive outcomes for children and families.

AFL Gippsland is proud to have joined the likes of Latrobe City, Lifeline Gippsland, Victoria Police and Latrobe Community Health Service in partnering on the project.

Special acknowledgement goes to Michael Roberts and Daryl Couling for their tremendous contribution to the program during their time as Football Development Managers for the Central Gippsland region.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
