Gippsland families flocked to Traralgon's Victory Park for some public holiday footy fun on the eve of the AFL Grand Final.
More than 2000 people braved inclement weather for a kick of the footy and an opportunity to rub shoulders with some AFL stars in the shape of North Melbourne power forward Ben Brown, four-time Hawthorn premiership defender Grant Birchall and Carlton midfield dynamo Sarah Hosking.
There were plenty of footy activities, including AFL inflatables, handball targets, agility tests and some good old fashioned kick to kick, as well as face painting, footy crafts and the AFL Grand Final Parade live on the Optus Truck big screen.
The TRFM street team delivered an outside broadcast and the Gippsland Live calling team cast an eye over the AFL season and offered their tips on the upcoming grand final between West Coast and Collingwood.
Representatives from Stratford, Yarram and Boisdale-Briagolong football netball clubs were in attendance to show off their East Gippsland, North Gippsland and Women's Development league premiership cups respectively and relive their grand final glory, while AFL Gippsland and the Gippsland branch of the Australian Football Coaches Association presented their annual coach and volunteer awards.
