Football Federation SA Referees officiate Futsal Grand Finals

Football Federation SA (FFSA) congratulates both Andrew Murray and Mitchell Higgins on their performances at the recent Football Federation Australia (FFA) National Futsal Championships.

The pair were selected to represent Football Federation SA in Sydney from January 3 - 8.

Raymond Grima also attended the Championships as a Referee Coach.

Both FFSA Futsal Referees performed very well during the tournament and were rewarded by being appointed to Grand Finals.

Mitchell Higgins was appointed to the Under 12 boys Grand Final as Referee One.

"Being appointed to a Grand Final in my first year attending as a referee was a great experience," said Mitchell.

"I learnt a lot this week which has developed my refereeing skills for use at the local level.’

Andrew Murray was appointed to the Under 19 Boys Youth Grand Final as Referee Two.

‘Having the opportunity to referee competitive games and having access to highly experienced coaches and fellow referees from all over the country creates a perfect environment for a referee to develop their skills," he said.

"It is important that both Mitch and I pass on our new found knowledge and experiences to the other FFSA Futsal Referees.’

This was Andrew’s 6th FFA Futsal Nationals. In 2016, Andrew was appointed to the Puma F-League Referees Panel and hopes to cement his spot on the National Futsal Refereeing Panel.
