Team Photo Night 2016 – Media Release

On Saturday the 28th of May the Lismore Basketball Association held a Team Photo night. The night was started with some nice posing by the Under 12 North Coast Shield girl’s team and was followed by the Under 12 boys – who with the help of some props and masking tape took some amazing and very cute photos!

The 12’s then went on to play some fun games including “dribble limbo” and “dribble rob the nest”.

The 14 Boys and Girls were up next and unfortunately only five Under 14 girls could make the photo shoot but still took a lovely picture!

A holt to the proceedings while we waited for some key coaches and players to arrive saw the 8ft Dunk contest and 3pt shoot out brought forward to entertain the crown while we waited.

Simon Mahoney, Ewan Williams, Alyssa King and Brad Euston judged the 8 ft dunk contested.

Sean Deucher was our eventual winner after some perhaps biased judging (Ewan giving Finn a five!) It was a great spectacle and most afterwards though Dale Bailey was severely ripped off coming in second after an up to the elbow dunk known as the cookie jar dunk! (Mostly due to Alyssa King giving it a 3!!!! What was she watching???)

Macie Nixon won the ladies section, as she was the only one brave enough to go in it and successfully completed three dunks!!! Good on you Macie!!!

The 3pt shoot out was shot down fast with Dale Bailey taking second go and hitting four from five. No one could beat this – Jase Cleaver getting close with three from five.

Finally Kris Greensill and Michael Willemsen arrived and all the remaining teams had their photos taken with some great results. The coach’s photo is an interesting one but unfortunately was missing a few key coaches in Matt Barlow, Mikaela Pienacki and Mel Ware.

The main event finally arrived with the coach’s versus Under 18 boys and girls. Hotly contested and arguably the most trash talking ever led up to the event.

Duane Versus Michael Willemsen, Ange Versus Kiara Richardson was a big part of the fun. Ange was extremely scared playing her last years Under 18 boys and this years Under 18 girls teams – She was happy just to finish the game without getting hurt while Michael definitely showed Duane who the boss is at there house still!

Makayla and Sam Greensill refereed with a smile – especially when they called a clear block on dad Kris Greensill.

Ewan Williams couldn’t contribute on the court but his encouragement and insults were heard throughout the stadium! Coaching team was bolstered by Josh Nixon who filled in as coach earlier this year.

Coaches came out on top winning by 2 points. A Re-Match has been called for and may happen at the end of the season!
