AFL Quebec 2015 Men's World Cup Tournament

AFL Quebec is delighted to announce it will kick off its 2015 Men's season with a World Cup Tournament on Sunday May 24th at Vanier College from 12.30pm.

The traditional AFL Quebec Men’s Teams of the Wooders, Dockers, Bombers and Demons will be redistributed for one day only to form new teams based on player’s origin!

The Teams (team names to be decided) will be:

- Quebec

- Europe

- Victoria, Western Australian, Tasmania and South Australia

- Commonwealth Team comprising of New South Wales, Capital Territory, Queensland & Northern Territory, New Zealand and Canada (Excluding Quebec).

Can a Rogers brother inspired Victoria heavy team capture World Cup glory, or will it be the French Connection of Team Europe? Don't discount the Commonwealth team who will be out to prove that they can play footy just as good as the traditional footy states. And finally, dismiss L'Equipe de Quebec at your peril, as the home team with home support will be out to cause a few upsets!

Each team will play each other in a blitz style tournament format. Games will be 30 minutes long (2 X 15 minutes halves).

All Players are asked to be at the field no later than 12.30pm. Even if you haven’t been out this year, you are still more than welcome to come along and play. We welcome everyone regardless of fitness levels or prior knowledge of the game.

This tournament will act as a precursor to the AFL Quebec 2015 Draft and Registration Night (Thursday May 28th) and AFL Quebec 2015 Regular Season which commences on Sunday May 31st.
