Burnaby Lakes to host Canadian Nationals

BC Footy is thrilled to announce Burnaby lakes will host the Canadian nationals this year on May 21-22.

The innaugural installment of the tournament will feature men's and women's teams from across Canada competing for national bragging rights.

Adam Kelly, BC Footy President said he was delighted with the outcome. "It's very difficult securing quality fields for games and tournaments in BC - there just aren't that many around that are big enough for footy" Kelly said. "With the Burnaby deal we not only have one but two top quality grass fields with great access and ammenities."

Kelly added he was grateful to Burnaby City for playing such a critical role making the fields available and supporting Australian Rules Football in BC. "We've been working with Burnaby City now for more than ten years and we couldn't be more impressed with their professionalism and open mindedness to a sport many folks here are unfamiliar with."

BC Footy will announce further details about the event over the coming weeks.
