Waves player selected in the Australian U17 Men's Team

After a week long training camp at the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence, the Australian U17 Men’s squad to compete at the FIBA U17 World Championships in Dubai has been chosen.

It includes one of our very own waves boys Jayden Hodgson. Jayden plays in the Waves U18M CPL team who have qualified for the Semi Finals which are being held at Maitland 19th July 2pm.

The squad will head to France for a pre-Worlds tour to compete in exhibition games before departing for Dubai, United Arab Emirates for the World Championships in early August.

Jayden Hodgson

Hodgson missed out on a place on the squad that toured China last month due to an illness but he’s impressed at the latest camp to secure him a spot for the World Championships. Hodgson, who is naturally a scoring point guard, will look to become more of a facilitator. With this squad filled will capable scorers, they’ll need another playmaker on the floor – look for Hodgson to distribute the ball more while also being a very capable spot-up 3-point shooter.

All of us at the Central Coast Waves wish you the best of luck Jayden and Congratulations on this great achievement.
