Establishing themselves in the NBL in 1990 as the Gold Coast Cougars, in 1992 they took on the name, The Gold Coast Rollers before having their license revoked in 1997 by the NBL after hitting financial difficulties.

The Gold Coast QBL program has also undertaken numerous branding over the past 10 years which included the Cougars, the Warriors and most recently, the Gliders and Goannas.

At the recent End of Season Awards Night held at Carrara Stadium, there were three major announcements made regarding the future of the QBL program and the last but certainly not the least, was the returning of the program back to it's rightful branding, the Gold Coast Rollers.

The logo has been redigitised, the colours have been reborn and the uniforms have been dusted off however we are assured by Rollers management the short shorts will stay where they are.

Keeping in line with the name change, the Gold Coast Rollers QBL team will also be relocating all home games back to the spiritual home of basketball, the Carrara Indoor Stadium.

The news only gets better with the announcement of joining forces with the Gold Coast Basketball Association allowing all D-League home games to be played prior to the QBL games like in most other centres.

Your big day of hoops will start at 1pm where D-League women will play, followed by the D-League men at 3pm, followed by the Rollers women at 5pm and the Rollers at 7pm, all under the same roof!

It is truly very exciting and you have an opportunity to be a part of this massive push forward.

Fully catered corporate boxes will once again line the sideline, but an additional five boxes will line each baseline, winding back the clock to bring Carrara Stadium back to life!
